Project Overview

The Fayette County Board of Education partnered with PSG Energy Services to modernize lighting across school campuses in Fayetteville, Georgia. The program combined LED fixture replacements, classroom dimming controls, and coordinated installation schedules to improve lighting quality and reduce energy costs.

The Challenge

Fayette County Schools needed to improve energy efficiency and classroom lighting while meeting public-bid requirements for value, performance, and product availability. Every installation also had to fit within summer and winter breaks to avoid interrupting classes and other school activities.

The Solution

PSG selected efficient LED fixtures and installed lighting controls with classroom dimming capabilities. The team coordinated materials and installation across the district, scheduling work around academic breaks. Following successful delivery of the initial phase, the district expanded its engagement with PSG.

Client Objectives

1

Reduce district-wide energy costs through LED upgrades.

2

Improve classroom lighting and provide flexible dimming controls.

3

Complete installations during school breaks without disrupting students or staff.

Highlights

The Results + Impact

The program replaced approximately 11,650 lighting fixtures across eight school sites and delivered more than $200,000 in annual energy savings. The upgraded lighting and dimming controls improved learning environments, and work was completed during scheduled breaks. Successful early execution also led to additional district work.
