Project Overview
Truist Financial Corporation partnered with PSG Energy Services on a nationwide lighting modernization program spanning 1,287 retail branches. The effort combined LED upgrades, advanced controls, utility rebate management, and a standardized multi-site deployment strategy.
The Challenge
Upgrading nearly 1,300 operating branches required consistent specifications, coordinated scheduling, and careful control of project costs. Truist also needed to capture eligible utility rebates while improving energy efficiency and limiting disruption to customer-facing branch operations.
The Solution
PSG developed retrofit solutions for all 1,287 locations within a matter of months, then coordinated a national rollout combining LED fixture upgrades with lighting controls. Centralized program management, rebate coordination, and a repeatable deployment approach helped maintain consistency and accelerate implementation.
Client Objectives
1
Improve energy performance across the retail branch network.
2
Reduce operating costs and maximize available utility incentives.
3
Deploy upgrades consistently and efficiently across active locations.
Highlights
National Program Management
A centralized rollout strategy aligned work across 1,287 geographically distributed branches.
Integrated Lighting & Controls
PSG paired LED upgrades with advanced controls to strengthen efficiency and operational performance.
Utility Rebate Coordination
Proactive incentive management helped secure rebates and improve the program’s financial return.
The Results + Impact
The project delivered $6.2 million in annual energy savings, $2.05 million in annual operational savings, and $2.7 million in secured utility rebates. According to PSG’s project figures, the rollout also achieved 25% cost savings and 35% faster execution compared with typical retrofit projects.
